The Atlanta Braves have signed Jake Marisnick to a minor league contract. The deal comes with a invite to Spring Training, and consequently Marisnick is already in camp with the team.

Marisnick, who has established himself as a glove-first outfielder, looks to get back to the big leagues after spending 2024 in Triple-A with the Angels.
Marisnick was a third round draft pick by the Blue Jays, going 104th overall, in 2009. He made it to Double-A New Hampshire before he was shipped to Miami as part of a massive 12 player deal that saw Mark Buehrle and Jose Reyes - among others - come to Toronto.
While he made his debut with the Marlins the following summer, Marisnick's most notable years were with Houston.
He's become a journeyman since being traded by the Astros, appearing in seven different uniforms since, including three in 2023.
Marisnick could be a good fit for Atlanta's outfield though. Ronald Acuna Jr. is still recovering from a torn ACL and could miss about a month, While Jurickson Profar, Jared Kelenic, and Bryan de La Cruz, are relatively poor defenders, and have been inconsistent the last few seasons.
Marisnick, on the other hand, has 80 Defensive Runs Saved and 52 Outs Above Average since making his debut in 2013. Only nine outfielders have a higher DRS during that time, and all but one have more innings.
Marisnick has been as consistent offensively with a career slash line of 228/.281/.385 and a wRC+ of 81.
In addition to the above number, Marisnick has 65 home runs and 223 RBIS with a career OPS+ of 81.
