Gregg Zaun is back in business! The former Blue Jays catcher-turned-broadcaster has recently taken on a new role as the hitting coach for the Tigres de Quintana Roo in the Mexican League.

While not as high-profile as Major League Baseball, the LMB ranks as North America's ninth-richest sports league by revenue and is the second wealthiest baseball league in the west.
The Tigres, based in Cancún, Quintana Roo, are one of the most successful and well-known teams in the LMB, with 12 championships to their name.
Zaun, who will work under manager C.J. Retherford, is joining his third coaching staff in as many years - and his first in the LMB.
In 2023, Zaun served as both the catching and hitting instructor for the Glacier Range Riders in the Pioneer League, and in 2024, he managed the Lexington Legends in the Atlantic League. Although these leagues aren't affiliated with Major League Baseball, both are considered MLB partner leagues.
Blue Jays fans will recognize Zaun, who played five seasons with the team from 2004 to 2008. After retiring, he became a familiar face on SportsNet as an analyst, co-host of Jays Central, and an occasional colour commentator. However, Zaun was fired in late 2017 following complaints from several female colleagues regarding inappropriate behaviour.
He kept a low profile for a few years after, though reports suggest he has been involved in baseball camps and activities in the Cleveland area.
