At least one Blue Jays legend is firmly on Team Vladdy.

As analysts and insiders continue to scrutinize the Blue Jays' front office, former Blue Jays pitcher Todd Stottlemyre has also weighed in. The two-time World Series champion took to social media to call out Ross Atkins, Mark Shapiro, and the organization, arguing that their failure to sign Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to a long-term deal is a "black eye" from which they may never recover.
It's harsh criticism, but one that has been echoed by many.
Since Tuesday-and even in the days leading up to it-fans have been vocal in their frustration. Many have called for Atkins to be fired, questioned why the Blue Jays didn't lock up Guerrero three years ago, and criticized the front office for being too rigid in its approach.
And those were the nice ones.
Stottlemyre isn't just speaking from a player's perspective-he knows a thing or two about money as well. After retiring from baseball, he pursued a career in finance, starting as an analyst for Merrill Lynch before becoming a day trader and eventually founding his own hedge fund.
Today, he is a motivational speaker, coach, and the founding CEO of the Arizona-based restaurant chain Koibito Poke. He has also authored two books.
The criticism of the Blue Jays' front office isn't going away anytime soon. With both Guerrero and Bo Bichette set to hit free agency after the season, tensions could rise even further-potentially making this an ongoing storyline all year long.
