Toronto Blue Jays' Addison Barger leaves game versus the Boston Red Sox with an injury.

Addison Barger's season is off to a less-than-ideal start.
The Toronto Blue Jays third baseman was forced to leave his first appearance of spring training after being hit on the hand during Sunday's game against the Boston Red Sox.
Toronto called the injury a right hand contusion.
After the game, manager John Schneider said that X-rays on Barger's hand came back negative. He will get tomorrow off but isn't expected to be sidelined long, per Sportsnet's Shi Davidi.
Barger was hit on a fastball from Red Sox starter Garrett Crochet that ran inside on the left-handed batter. The pitch was ruled to hit the knob of Barger's bat and was called a foul ball.
He was replaced mid-at-bat by infield prospect Charles McAdoo, who ended up striking out.
The 25-year-old Barger is competing for a spot on the Blue Jays this spring. In 2025, he appeared in 69 games with Toronto, slashing .197/.250/.351 with seven home runs and 28 RBIs.
Not good new for the Blue Jays as Barger is one of their top prospects and had high hopes for him this season which is why many are praying that the injury is not serious.
As fans saw last year with Bo Bichette, a hand contusion could end up being quite serious as Bichette needed surgery to repair a broken finger that he spent the off-season rehabbing.
Hopefully it is nothing too serious but as of right now things do not look great for Barger.
As soon as we have and update on Barger's injury we will pass on the news.
