Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios will make his Spring Training Debut today vs the Philadelphia Phillies at TD Ball Park in Dunedin.

Last year Jose Berrios finished the season with a career-high 16 wins, which is an accomplishment given the bullpen that often pitched behind him.
That group was one of the worst we've seen in years in Toronto, particularly since the Trade Deadline sent this organization scouring the waiver wire on a weekly basis.
Even with the season now behind him, there's something about Berrios that never turns off.
Berrios was happy with his career season last year, but never satisfied.
«I've been feeling strong and healthy with freedom to home plate,» Berrios said. «It's hard when you lose and you know you're not going anywhere with a postseason spot, but I need to work. No matter what, we have to continue to focus and compete. I think I need to work on that. Other than that, I feel great with my pitches on the mound, and I had a lot of good games during the year.»

This spring that mantra continues to be Berrios motivation in 2025.
"Seeing the new players with good energy and they're hungry motivated myself to come here every morning, everyday to get better as a person and as a player. Right now I feel really healthy and really strong, obviously I'm still building up my stamina about pitching but physically and mentally I feel pretty strong."

"Last year we had a lot of injuries but now they're healthy and 100% ready and also we have more experience so we have the talent as well as some great ball players that are going to help our to the accomplish the goals of our vision of getting to the world series."
"I think our team is in a much better position and we obviously have room to get better, with the group we have now we are ready to compete. We have a great starting rotation on this team and I feel really proud of us, with team work we are trying to get better everyday. We have each others back, that's the way we work. We now have Max Scherzer as soon to be hall of famer, Bowden Francis had an amazing year last season, Bassitt, Gausman and myself are ready to keep doing what weve been doing so far and to put our team in a good position to win ball games.
