Could a deal between the Toronto Blue Jays and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. be imminent?

According to Carlos Baerga, All-Star player-turned-insider, the answer is yes.
Baerga, who has become something a of Spanish-language pundit in recent years, recently made some bold statements surrounding Guerrero on social media.
First, he claimed that Vladdy would be signing a massive contract extension with the Blue Jays in the coming days, somewhere between $450-500MM. While it is unknown what's Vladdy's figure is, that range does fall within recent projections.
Baerga also said that Anthony Santander claimed that the Blue Jays had promised him that they were bringing Guerrero back.
The comment involving Santander is particularly curious, given that the Jays are usually quite reticent about revealing details involving other players.
While Baerga has made some correct predictions before, especially when it comes to Latin players, he has also been incorrect a number of times as well.
It should be noted that Vladdy has been somewhat cryptically posting a countdown on his own instagram. While many Blue Jays fans feel that it is an illusion to his self-imposed deadline, many are now surmising that could be a number of days until a deal is announced.
The cut-off date for talks is Tuesday, February 18th. If a deal is going to be announced it would likely be on Monday night or on the morning of the deadline.
Either way, Blue Jays fans will have to wait a few more days.
