Somewhere Johnny Damon is yelling at a wall in disbelief.
When Damon signed with the Yankees, he famously had to cut off his long hair and beard, radically changing his trademark caveman look.
News broke Friday that the Yankees were updating their longstanding no facial hair, now allowing "well-groomed" beards.
When Blue Jays manager John Schneider was asked his thoughts on the change, he admitted that the organization had a no facial hair policy in the minors as recently as 2017.
He also said though that the game has to keep evolving with the times.
I think it's great Today's game wants players to be themselves you have to keep evolving with the times.
Schneider has always had the reputation of being a modern-day manager, representative of the times.
Perhaps because of this updated policy, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who previously said he would never be seen in pinstripes, now at least seems open to the possibly of being a New York Yankee, calling his issues with the team "in the past".
While the two things events aren't related, many people will no doubt draw conclusions, especially since the Yankees were already being talked about as a potential landing spot after the Blue Jays and Guerrero failed to reach a deal by Tuesday's deadline.
While we are unlikely to see any cavemen or Brandon Marshes, Thurman Munson's 1970s moustache could make a welcome comeback.
