The Boston Red Sox have signed Alex Bregman. The deal is reportedly for three years and a $120MM.

That is a $40MM AAV.
Chandler Rome of the Athletic first reported the deal.
The contract also includes opt-outs after year.
According to the New York Post's Jon Heyman, the deal does come with some deferred money, although the amount is currently unknown.
This puts an end to speculation to where Bregman, the biggest free agent left on the market, would sign, if anywhere before the beginning of Spring Training.
IT became increasingly unlikely that Bregman was going to return to the Astros, who had reportedly offered him a six year, $156MM deal.
It's also an interesting move for Bregman, who had indicated that he wasn't interested in a shorter-term deal. However, at $40MM a year, the offer from the Red Sox was too good to pass up.
It also presents the Red Sox with an interesting conundrum. Rafael Devers is currently installed at third base, with Triston Casas at first base. With Matasaka Yoshida scheduled to receive the bulk of his at-bats at DH, something has to got give.
Although Devers had previously indicated he wasn't interested in moving across the diamond to first base, he might have no choice now with Bregman in the fold. This will likely also put Casas on the trade block.
The Blue Jays were also in on Bregman, and had allegedly offered him a three year deal. The exact figure was not known, but it was unlikely close to what the Red Sox were offering.
Red Sox Spring Training Camp will be interesting.
