Alan Roden is taking things in stride.

Even before Spring Training started, the Blue Jays outfield prospect was labelled as one to watch, and set to be the story of camp.
Yesterday, Blue Jays General Manager Ross Atkins, singled the 25 year old out as someone who could be a big part of the Blue Jays future.
For Roden, he knows the significance of Atkins making that statement, and is using it as an opportunity.
It's hard to not take advantage of that. It would be shameful if you didn't. It's two ears open, one mouth closed.

He is also taking the time to watch the veterans closely.
The 25 year old outfielder has little left to prove in the minors, after slashing .314/.406/.510 with nine home runs and 48 RBIs in 71 games in Triple-A Buffalo last year.
However, due to a proliferation of fourth outfield candidates, Roden could be the victim of a roster crunch and wind up starting the year in a Bisons uniform.
Still, if he keeps on hitting, he could play his way onto the team and force the Blue Jays to make some tough decisions.
Success in the minors never guarantees success in the majors and the Blue Jays don't feel like they need to rush Roden to the bigs.
Still at 25, his prime years are coming soon.
Whatever happens, Roden will definitely be on the major league roster at some point this year. It's just a matter of when.
