Remember the name Andrew Bash. The right-handed pitcher and non-roster invitee could turn heads at Spring Training.

But more so than his skill, Bash has a very interesting and unique story, one that could come full circle should he make the team.
Bashwas drafted in 30th round by the Los Angeles Angels back in 2019. In his first minor league season, he performed well, garnering a 2.81 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and .213 BAA in 14 appearances.
Then the pandemic hit and MLB consolidated many minor league teams, leaving Bash without a home.
With nowhere to go, the product of California Baptist University returned to his Alma Mater, where he found work as a groundskeeper.
He wasn't mowing grass and raking dirt for long though.
The Missoula PaddleHeads came calling and Bash put up decent enough numbers with the Pioneer League team, a 2-0 record with a 1.80 ERA in five games, that the Blue Jayssigned him to a minor league contract in mid-2021.
After starting out in Dunedin, Bash has risen through the minor league ranks, ultimately ending up in Buffalo last year.
He had a strong showing with the Bisons. With Buffalo, Bash went 4-0 with a 2.97 ERA in 27 games. This included 16 starts.
While he is not currently on the 40-man roster, two spots will be opening up when Alek Manoah and Angel Bastardo get transferred to the 60-day IL to start the season.
If Bash performs well enough, he might just end up a major leaguer.
