Will the Toronto Blue Jays finally have the season we've all been waiting for? Or is this just the final chapter in a story that's nearing its end.

This was supposed to be the golden era for the Blue Jays, with all those young players (all those young players who were the sons of '90s stars, no less!) maturing together and, at last, ascending to the top of what has traditionally been the best division in baseball. But it hasn't worked out that way.
Toronto has made the playoffs three times since 2020, but each was as a Wild Card. Plus, the club hasn't so much as won a single postseason game, let alone a series, during that stretch.
Then, it bottomed out with a last-place finish in 2024.
The Jays stayed the course, though, adding players and not trading away Vladimir Guerrero Jr. or Bo Bichette as they enter the final year of their contracts.
That's a big bet, and one they desperately need to pay off before both those players hit free agency. It's enough of a risk to make your forehead sweat.
But the result could be what Blue Jays fans were promised, and so obviously deserve.
With the contracts of Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Bo Bichette entering their final seasons in Toronto, some might say this window of this once promising core is almost closed.
Because of their looming contracts you can bet that Vlad Jr and Bo have been preparing and working extra hard this off season to perform at their best in 2025.
Chris Bassitt is also entering his final season under contract with the Blue Jays, add newly acquired Max Scherzer who signed on a one-year deal and you have two more guys motivated to have career years.
'Winning cures everything. All you need to do is wake up in the morning and have that drive to win and the rest kind of takes care of itself. I'm not just playing to play, I want to play to win. I really feel like the Blue Jays offer that." - Max Scherzer addressing the media.
Then you've got fresh faces Andres Gimenez and Anthony Santander who are signed through to 2030.
Being new to the club you can bet they have something to prove this season and will definitely add some spark to an otherwise underwhelming 2024 team.
The Blue Jays resigned Yimi Garcia to a two year pact signed an elite closer in Jeff Hoffman to a three-year deal, added Josh Walker and side-armer Nick Sandlin to compliment Erik Swanson and Chad Green in a bullpen that finished dead last in the American League last year.
Regardless if the Blue Jays add another bat via free agency or a trade before spring training they do have some internal options if that doesn't happen.
If ...and I mean this is a big if Davis Schneider, Orelvis Martinez, Will Wagner, Addison Barger and or Joey Loperfido have a breakout season the Blue Jays will be cooking with gas.
And if the Blue Jays are playoff bound by September you can look at this team to add a big bat at the deadline because you can bet there will be plenty of sellers.
2025 may be the last season with Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Bo Bichette so enjoy it while you can.
The window is closing but its not shut yet, I predict this season will prove to be the most exciting in years.
Lets enjoy it while we can.
