Blue Jays' officially sign Carlos Guzman

The Toronto Blue Jays officially sign Carlos Garc�a Guzmán, a 17-year-old catcher, from California after standing out in the Mexican League and international tournaments.
«I would like to thank my family, my grandparents, and especially my grandfather Andrés Guzmán, for his constant support and encouragement in my career,» said Guzman."
Guzman is currently in the playing in the Dominican Republic, where he is preparing for the next step on his road to the major leagues.
Carlos Garc�a Guzman 17, is a catcher with great bat to ball skills he finished the 2024 season with a .403 batting average.
His signing occurred, in part, because in the most recent season of the Mexican Baseball League he made his debut with Guerreros de Oaxaca, which caught the attention of Major League talent scouts.
Since he was 3 years old, Carlos Garc�a Guzmán has been playing baseball, starting his relationship with this sport in children's leagues in Rosarito.
Then, between the ages of 8 and 16, he was in leagues of the king of sports in Tijuana, which led him to be part of state, national and even world competitions.
Turning 15 was key for Garc�a Guzmán as he signed with the Guerreros de Oaxaca, that is, in 2021, to be in their development academy, starting in 2022.
Thanks to this, in 2023, he finished the season with a batting average of .280, while in 2024, he was invited to the preseason with the Guerreros de Oaxaca big team and made his debut on May 31, 2024.
In September 2024, he was invited to the preseason with the Obreg�n team, later, he was called by the Diablos Rojos for a development academy in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, where he was crowned batting champion with a .403 average.
Finally, on February 6th, 2025, his signing with the
Toronto Blue Jays was finalized.
