Blue Jays' lineup uncertain for John Schneider

George Springer has been a leadoff hitter for most of his career, but his struggles last year saw him moved out of his traditional spot and down to the fifth or sixth in the order before returning.

In light of that, Schneider says there's no guarantee Springer will be leadoff hitter come opening day.

So what are some other options and what would the rest of the lineup look like?

Andres Gimenez has been mentioned as a possible candidate but he would need to increase his OBP to have a realistic shot. He might be better served as the eighth or ninth.

Will Wagner is another option but the Blue Jays would need a full Spring out of him before making any decisions.

As for the rest, that's also an open book, but the prevailing wisdom is that the Blue Jayswill have Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Anthony Santander back-to-back. Three and four seems like the most logical choice, but it's not in set in stone.

Bo Bichette has mostly been a number two hitter, but last year spent more games batting behind than in front of him. So it's possible the Blue Jays could go Vladdy-Bo-Santander as 3-4-5 in the lineup.

Varsho and Kirk look to slide in behind Santander in some capacity, while Ernie Clement and Nathan Lukes could fill out either the top or bottom of the order.

These things often sort themselves out and the Blue Jays have a lot of flexibility when it comes to lineup construction.

This will be a moving target throughout Spring Training and possibly into the regular season as well.
