The Toronto Blue Jays are just over a week into their 2025 Grapefruit League schedule, and the early results have been encouraging. Max Scherzer has looked like his old self through 5.2 innings, and Daulton Varsho has found his power stroke, homering in back-to-back games.

Yet, a quick glance at the team's offensive leaders reveals a few surprises. Here's a look at some unexpected standouts through the first ten days of spring:
STEWARD BERROA
The young outfielder - and clubhouse comedian - is off to a strong start in his bid to earn a backup outfielder role. Through six games and 13 at-bats, Berroa is tied for third on the team in hits, while his .462 batting average ranks near the top. His .846 OPS is second only to Daulton Varsho. Berroa has put himself in a solid position to head north with the team on Opening Day.
MYLES STRAW
The tide appears to be turning for Myles Straw, a former Gold Glove-winning centre fielder who isn't even on the 40-man roster. Straw is having an impressive spring as he looks to work his way back to the majors.
Through six games, Straw owns a .465 batting average and a .417 on-base percentage, while also tying for the team lead with four RBIs. Known more for his defence than his offence, if Straw can keep producing at the plate, he could force his way onto the Opening Day roster.
ALEJANDRO KIRK
Alejandro Kirk came into camp as the Blue Jays' clear No. 1 catcher, building off a strong second half in 2024. So far, he's tied for the team lead with four RBIs and ranks third in walks, trailing only Davis Schneider and Alan Roden.
Kirk has also been making consistent hard contact, and his .400 BABIP ranks among the team leaders.
The Blue Jays don't need Kirk to hit 20 home runs, but if he continues to get on base at a strong clip, he'll boost his overall value to the team.
