The Toronto Blue Jays are set to face the Detroit Tigers in their second matchup of the Grapefruit League season. First pitch is scheduled for 1:07 PM ET.
The teams last met on Friday, February 28th, in a split-squad game for the Blue Jays, with Toronto winning 10-7.
Jose Berrios will make his second start of Spring Training for the Blue Jays, while reigning AL Cy Young Award winner TTarik Skubal takes the mound for Detroit.
Berrios' first outing came against the Phillies, where he threw 2.2 innings, allowing one run on two hits with a pair of strikeouts. The lone blemish was a home run to Gabriel Rincones Jr.
With this being his second start, expect Berrios to work 3-4 innings and throw around 45 pitches.
Berrios was arguably Toronto's most reliable starter last season, finishing with a 16-11 record and a 3.60 ERA across 32 starts. In fact, he's made exactly 32 starts in each of the last three seasons - the picture of consistency.
Skubal, meanwhile, comes off a dominant 2024 campaign in which he went 18-4 with a 2.39 ERA over 31 starts. Along the way, he won the pitching Triple Crown, earned his first All-Star selection, and led the league in strikeouts.
Unfortunately for Blue Jays fans, today's game won't be televised. It will only be available on WXYT 1270 AM in Detroit - a common occurrence in Spring Training when broadcast rights don't always extend to the visiting team.
