Toronto Blue Jays roster moves

As Spring Training pushes past its second full week, the Toronto Blue Jays have started to trim their roster as opening day moves closer.

So far, the moves mostly affect minor league players and non-roster invitees. The following have been re-assigned to minor league camp:
C Robert Brooks
RHP Adam Kloffenstein
INF Charles McAdoo
INF Rainer Nunez
INF Eddinson Paulino
OF RJ Schreck
C Andres Sosa
Nunez had a strong spring, going 3-9 with four RBIs, including a two-run single in today's win over the Tigers. However, as a bat-first 1B with little positional versatility there simply isn't room for him on the roster - yet.
McAdoo is another notable name on this list. Though the 22-year old third baseman homered, he only hit 167 and still needs more time to develop.
Kloffenstein was set to begin the year in Triple-A as the Blue Jays seventh or eighth starter. However, he suffered a minor injury at the start and his slow recovery prevented him from getting game action. Still, he's a candidate to be added to the 40-man roster once the season starts.
Neither Brooks nor Sosa saw much action. With their re-assignment, the Blue Jays have seven catchers remaining camp, including Alejandro Kirk.
Pitching prospect Adam Macko, who is on the active roster, was optioned to Triple-A. Macko suffered a tear of his meniscus early on in camp, and will need several weeks of recovery. Depending on how his rehab goes, he could still be a contributor for the Blue Jays come July.
The Blue Jays now have 61 players remaining. A second round of cuts will likely happen in about week's time.
