Toronto Blue Jays fans are extremely disappointed that Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins are not able to keep Vladimir Guerrero Jr in Toronto. The face of the franchise is heading into free agency and the fans vow to make there opinions known.
The National Entertainment Editor for the Toronto Sun Mark Daniell wrote:
I am old enough to remember the dark days of the early 2000s when you would see literally no one in the stands. This failure will set the team back for years. I fear it's unlikely that the
Blue Jays will ever recover from this. A big eff you to the fans.
We as fans are not confident in you anymore. All Blue Jays fans are disappointed in the front office.
A lot of fans want Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins fired immediately.
The Fans are more disappointed in the
Blue Jays FRONT OFFICE. FIRE THEM ALL TODAY!
This
Blue Jays fan responded to MLB Insider Jeff Passan on how fans in Toronto feel at the moment.:
The consensus amongst most Toronto fans is to boycott everything
Blue Jays including going to games this year.
Blue Jays fans: can we just all agree to not show up to the Rogers Centre? All that money put into renos over the last couple years, increasing ticket prices, but not ensuring they are putting a competitive team on the field. Show the team that we will not stand for/support this
Blue Jays fans should stop going to games and stop watching the games on TV. If they want things to change.
Welp! We know what needs to be done
Blue Jays fans! It's time to Jebediah Springfield this bitch!
I was feeling done with this team before the
Vladimir Guerrero Jr deadline. I now know that my intrigue and interest no longer warrants my time. This Front Office is a continuous failure enabled by the whole
Blue Jays Organization at behest of all the fans. I'm done with getting yanked around.
Bodog expressed their thoughts with just one gif.
Ross Atkins and Shapiro both need to be fired. How are Jays fans supposed to take this organization seriously when they can't even sign Vladdy who's their best player, a fan favourite and who actually wants to stay a Blue Jay.
Another lifelong fan wrote:
If the
Blue Jays lose
Vladimir Guerrero Jr next offseason I'm going to renounce being a
Blue Jays fan. I can't continue to support an organization that doesn't respect its fans by attempting to be competitive. Waste all that time on failing to negotiate with our top star while also leaving Bo.
The 'Atkins to the Moon' account held no punches.
"Fuck you @EdwardSRogers you let these 2 idiots run the team into the ground for a decade. Thanks for our new stadium design you asshole."
'Atkins to Alcatraz' reiterated what Ben Nicholson Smith had to say about the ordeal earlier today.
Many west coast fans vow to boycott games and travel due to many reasons leading up to today, not signing
Vladimir Guerrero Jr may be the final nail in the coffin.
Many
Blue Jays fans who have gone down to Spring Training in Dunedin every year have decided not to go this season because of Canadian pride due the current volatile political environment.
I wonder how many
Blue Jays' fans will pass on the Seattle games this year? How many will pass on training camp in Dunedin? No family trips to Disneyland/World? Spring break in Europe for a change? Letting trump and the U.S. know Canadians are not for sale.
Even
Blue Jays super fan Cheryl Fullarton is fed up.
After all the dust clears it will be interesting to see if Opening day is a sellout, itll be very interesting to see how the
Blue Jays fair on the field this year.
If they don't perform well this season and this front office starts selling pieces like they did in 2024, there will be some dark days in Toronto going forward.
