The offseason continues to crawl along.

While Blue Jay fans await the next big move after trading for Andres Gimenez, the Blue Jays themselves continue to add low-risk depth moves.

Monday brought Ali Sanchez into the fold.

The former Miami Marlins catcher has been signed to a minor league contract that includes an invite to spring training.

While he hasn't done much in the Majors, his signing could prove crucial as the Blue Jays recently cut ties with Nick Raposo, who represented the next-man-up behind Alejandro Kirk and Tyler Heineman.

Sanchez has limited experience in the majors, appearing in 31 games for the Marlins last season, having also made brief cameos for both the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals.

He has no home runs and four RBIs for his career.

The Blue Jays also finalised their coaching staff for the 2025 season by announcing the hiring of Sam Greene as assistant pitching coach.

Greene originally joined the Blue Jays in 2021 and spent last season as a senior pitching research specialist.

His rise through the Blue Jays organization is very similar to that of former pitching David Howell, who recently took a job within the Phillies organization.

Along with Greene, the team formalised the previously announced hires of Lou Iannotti as assistant hitting coach and Graham Johnson as bullpen. Both moves had been announced earlier and were made official by the club today.

Finally, the Blue Jays have also reached a verbal agreement with international short stop Christopher Polanco and intend to sign him when IFA signing period opens in January.
