She will also stop covering the Blue Jays for the magazine as well.
McGrath recently wrote her last piece, covering the Blue Jays new years resolutions for 2025.
McGrath has covered a lot for the Blue Jays over the years. The team navigating the coronavirus pandemic when they barred from playing games in Toronto. She was there during their pursuits of Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto and the brief playoff runs of 2020, 2022, and 2023.
McGrath has been one of the best during her time and Blue Jays fans and Athletic subscribers will sorely miss her keen and in-depth analysis.
In addition to her time at The Athletic, McGrath has also worked for CBC as an editorial assistant, the National Post as a web producer, and Yahoo Sports Canada where she was an assistant editor, and is also currently employed as an instructor at the College of Sports Media in Toronto where she teaches a second year media course.
She joined the Athletic in 2016.
While she has not publicly announced what her new venture will be, there is no doubt she will approach it with the same tenacity as she did covering the Blue Jays.
We here at Blue Jays Central join the rest of the media in wishing her the best in her future endeavours.
We will miss you Kaitlyn!
