Are the Blue Jays considering adding another pitcher to their bullpen? Many believe the answer is yes, and some have suggested Cal Quantrill.

Quantrill, a native of Port Hope, Ontario, and son of former Blue Jay Paul Quantrill, is a free agent after an up-and-down year with the Colorado Rockies.
He debuted with the Padres in 2019 before being traded to the Guardians midway through the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. He was DFA'd by Cleveland at the end of 2023.
With the Rockies last year Quantrill was 8-11 with a 4.98 ERA in 29 starts.
While Quantrill has primarily been a starter throughout his career, with 123 starts in 161 games, he's proven effective as a reliever. In 38 games out of the bullpen, Quantrill has posted a 1.91 ERA in 61.1 innings and compiled a 4-1 record.
Quantrill will be 30 in a few days and now might be the right time for him to consider a transition to the bullpen.
Though Quantrill is another right-handed option, he could provide the Blue Jays with a multi-inning arm and help ease Yariel Rodriguez's transition into the bullpen.
Additionally, should there be any injuries or regression in the rotation, Quantrill could slide into the fifth starter role.
For his career, Quantrill has a 43-34 record with a 4.07 ERA and one save.
His father, Paul, played six seasons for the Blue Jays, going 30-34 with a 3.67 ERA in 386 appearances, including 20 starts and 15 saves.
