The former host of Tim and Sid on SportsNet and current host of Breakfast Television on CityTV is known for his passionate and sarcastic rants. He's always been outspoken. And he's absolutely disgusted by Blue Jays fans.
On Tuesday he posted on X saying that even after the Blue Jays signed Anthony Santander, a player who can legitimately help them, the fans acted with hatred and contempt. And he's not wrong.
While it's not true that every Blue Jays is acting this way, some are even acknowledging the good work by Atkins and giving credit where credit is due, a good chunk of the fandom is still calling for Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins (and in some cases manager John Schneider) to be fired, bitter over the spate of near-misses of the last 14 months.
Seixeiro's social media post did get some push-back from some of the more level-headed members of Blue Bird Nation, but many replies reinforced his point. Considering many fans have also been wishing serious harm to Roki Sasaki, it's fair to say that Sid is in the right here.
And while signing Vladimir Guerrero Jr.. to a long-term contract extension could certainly quell those feelings of inadequacy, many are skeptical that Atkins has the competency to get such a deal done, and would most likely would be unhappy with whatever terms were agreed to.
Let's all take a deep breath. It will be okay.
