The rumours continue to swirl about both Corbin Burnes and Teoscar Hernandez.
While it is unknown if the Blue Jays have made an offer to their former outfielder, it is rumoured that the front had a face-to-face meeting with the former Cy Young winner. According to MLB senior reporter Mark Feinsand, the Blue Jays are believed to be one of the final teams in the mix for Burnes.
It is unclear if the Jays have made a formal offer, but the market for Burnes is said to be around $250 million.
With the Jays potentially in the market for a left fielder as well, many Jays fans are clamouring for a reunion with Teoscar Hernandez. And they aren't the only ones.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. recently posted a picture of himself and Hernandez at a gym together on social media, with rumours that he is trying to coax his former teammate and close friend back to The Six.
The Jays did make some minor moves though.
Eric Lauer, a former starter with both the San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers agreed to minor league deal with the Blue Jays after spending the 2024 season in Korea where he won a championship with the KBO Tigers.
Also, the previously announced Yimi Garcia deal was made official. The former reliever - who was traded to Seattle at last year's trading deadline - returns to the Blue Jays on a two year, $15 million dollar contract.
To go along with the Garcia signing, the Jays also designated catcher Nick Raposo for assignment.
Raposo, who was cleared off the 40 man roster to make room for Garcia, was originally claimed off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals in August.
