In their search for the next great superstar, the Toronto Blue Jays have gone international.

The team is reportedly one of five to have made a formal offer to Korean infielder Hye-seong Kim Kim.

The 25 year old from Goyang has a lifetime .304 average, to go along with 37 home runs and 384 RBIS. He has spent the last eight seasons playing for Seoul-based Kiwoom Heroes.

Kim's real asset however, is his glove. He is the player in KBO history to win a golden glove at both second base and short stop.

While Kim would be a good insurance policy in advent of a Bo Bichette departure, if he were to sign with the Jays for the 2025 season, his most likely position would be at third base.

His signing would also mean pushing Ernie Clement back into a utility role and displacing another youngster from an already crowded middle infield.

There is some concern about his skill set will translate to a big-league stadium, but Kim is athletic enough to make adjustments.

There has been no official word on what the Blue Jays offer to Kim was, but they are thought to be among five teams to have presented a dollar figure to the Korean superstar.

The Mariners, Padres, Reds, and Angels were said to be the other teams that made formal offers while the Giants and Cubs had also shown interest.
