The Toronto Blue Jays have announced that they have hired another coach. Former UBC Thunderbirds player and coach Noah Or will be joining the Vancouver Canadians as a strength and condition coach.

"Congratulations to Noah Or on accepting a position in the Blue Jays organization! He will be heading up the Strength and Conditioning for the Vancouver Canadians after spending Spring Training with them in Florida. Thank you for all you've done for the Wildcats Program Noah!"
Or attended the University of British Columbia from 2018 - 2023, while obtaining his Kinesiology degree.
Noah also played on the UBC Thunderbirds baseball team where he was a fundamental part of the team's success.
While studying and playing collegiate baseball Noah was also a coach with the UBC Thunderbirds PBL team.
This coming off the most recent hiring of Kevin Kiermaier as a special assistant for the Blue Jays.
Or will report to Blue Jays Spring Training in Dunedin and then will report to the Vancouver Canadians when the regular season starts.
This is an big leap of faith on the Blue Jays part being that Or was a coach for the Webber Wildcats, a high school baseball team west of Calgary, Alberta last season.
Or was a catcher during his playing days, his last season came in 2022-23 when he played for the UBC Thunderbirds before becoming a coach.
During his lengthy tenure at UBC Noah played in 159 games recording 170 hits, 32 doubles, and 11 home runs.
Defensively Noah was rock solid for the Thunderbirds, even having a perfect fielding percentage during the 2019/20 campaign.

Making the jump from a high school baseball coach to the pro level will definitely be an adjustment for the young man, but this also proves that he is clearly very talented if the Blue Jays were willing to give him a shot.
It will be interesting to see how he does in his first season with the Vancouver Canadians and if he finds himself in the big club one day.
