The Post's Joel Sherman reports the the deal is worth $10MM.
The 37 year old is coming off a season in saved 27 games, pushing him into fourth place all time behind Hall of Famers Mariano Rivera, Trevor Hoffman, and Lee Smith. At 31 saves behind Smith, Jansen has a chance to catch him this year.
Several teams, including the Mets and the Blue Jays, were said to have been interested in Jansen's services, though it's unknown how many made formal offers.
Jansen will serve as the Angels primary closer, a likely factor in him choosing to sign with the Halos.
There was no guarantee he would have been the primary ninth inning guy with the Mets and Blue Jays.
While he is no longer the top closer in the game, his cut fastball still sits around 92-93mph and he had 3.29 ERA last season, along with a nearly 29% strikeout rate.
The Angels have a very young bullpen, with only Brock Burke, Jose Quijada, and Jose Suarez having more than two years of service time.
With Jansen now set to close out games for the Angels, flame-throwing righty Ben Joyce will slide into the set-up role, giving Los Angeles a fairly strong back end of the bullpen.
The Angels will continue to explore the relief market and look to add another arm or two.
For his career Jansen is 49-36 with a 2.57 ERA and 447 saves.
