Non-tendering Jordan Romano was a «very difficult» decision, according to Atkins, who says Blue Jays remain interested in their longtime closer and are «heavily pursuing» a reunion. «We have no medical concerns,» Atkins said.
When asked about Juan Soto, Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins declined to comment specifically, citing respect for Soto & agent Scott Boras. «The interest is obviously there from all 30 teams.»
Atkins talked about the rehab work of Bo Bichette, Will Wagner & Daulton Varsho, Atkins said «no one's behind schedule.» Bichette & Wagner on track for opening day. Varsho: you never know but «that could be unrealistic.» Alek Manoah also off to «a good start» with his throwing program.

The Jays are still looking for a new assistant pitching coach.
Would you like to see the Toronto Blue Jays bring Jordan Romano back?
Or is he too much of a risk going forward?
This fan would like to see Alek Manoah have a bounce back season and by the sounds of it he is on track to put himself in prime position the be ready for opening day.
If Bo Bichette can remain healthy in a contract year look out!
Willy Wagner might be Toronto's starting second baseman if he continues to hit like he did before his injury in late 2024.
