Keegan Matheson feels your pain Blue Jays fans.

The MLB insider and Blue Jays beat writer recently appeared on MLB tonight to talk about the team's offseason.

While saying that at the beginning of the offseason Anthony Santander made some sense for the Blue Jays, Matheson opines that he now makes a lot of sense. And while he jokes that the Blue Jays need someone to take their money, for a lot of these players, it's about term rather than overall value, which can be a risk for an older player like Santander.

They need someone to come take their money eventually. - Blue Jays insider Keegan Matheson.

In terms of pitching, Matheson states that veterans like Jose Berrios, Kevin Gausman, and Chris Bassitt have done a great job of staying healthy but that that's not always going to stick.

There will come a time where they will need 10, 12, 14 pitchers. At the major league level, he mentioned guys like Jose Quintana and Andrew Heaney, as pitchers that would make sense for the Blue Jays.

Vladdy. While we don't exactly know where the Blue Jays and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. are in their contract negotiations, Matheson states that the Blue Jays would have to offer Vladdy world to get him to not test free agency.

Even if he becomes one, it could be an Aaron Judge situation, where he tests the waters and then ultimately re-signs with his original team. Either way, a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. signing before spring training is unlikely.

There is about six weeks left before spring training starts. The Blue Jays still have time, but are also running out of it.
