The Toronto Blue Jays sent the MLB universe into a frenzy on Monday when they announced the signing of All-Star outfielder Anthony Santander.

MLB Network's Jon Morosi spoke about the move on MLB Hot Stove while stating that Toronto isn't done yet.

"The Blue Jays are one of the teams that we've heard connected to throughout this offseason and he gives them a lot of balance. ... I don't think they are totally done yet, it wouldn't surprise me if we see someone like a Jurickson Profar perhaps, land with the Blue Jays."

"We had heard at different times Alonso and Bregman, ... but you think about Santander and the power. Rare is the switch-hitting bat who can hit 44 home runs, it's only happened a handful of times in recent years in Major League Baseball."

Profar could be the direction Toronto goes to keep improving.

He would be the second switch-hitter added to the Blue Jays lineup, with the addition of the left-handed swinging Andres Gimenez also providing more depth at the bottom of the order.

The Blue Jays and Red Sox have been connected to Santander and Profar all winter and it stands to reason that the Blue Jays still have a lot of interest in the latter.

After signing a one-year deal with the Padres over the offseason that guaranteed him just $1MM last year, Profar enjoyed a breakout season that is sure to earn him a significant pay raise headed into 2025.

In 158 games with San Diego this year, Profar slashed an excellent .280/.380/.459 (139 wRC+) with 24 home runs, 10 steals, a strong 11.1% walk rate and an excellent 15.1% strikeout rate.

That strong all-around play came together to create by far the most valuable season of Profar's career as he posted 4.3 fWAR, leaving him sandwiched between Mookie Betts and Kyle Tucker as the seventh most valuable outfielder in 2024.
