The Bravos de Leon of the Mexican League have signed veteran relief pitcher Jay Jackson. The news was announced by the team in a press release. Concurrent to Jackson, Bravos also signed Josimar Cousin.

Jackson spent 2024 with the Minnesota Twins and a rough go. In 20 appearances, he went 1-2 with a 7.52 ERA.
However, Jackson had much better success in his year with Blue Jays. A clubhouse favourite for his jovial personality and positive attitude, Jackson made 25 appearances out of the pen for the Blue Birds, going 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA.
He had a solid strikeout and walk profile (25.4% and 7.9%, respectively) but gave up seven home runs in his relatively small sample of work. While his velocity was down slightly last year, he has reached top speeds of around 93mph.
While Jackson has only spent six years in the major leagues, he also spent four years playing in Japan. He also self-published a book back in December.
Although he is now 37, if Jackson performs well in Mexico, there is a chance he find himself back in the bigs on a minor league contract.
Previously, Jackson had expressed interest in returning to the Blue Jays, as he enjoyed the city of Toronto. However, there was no love from the Blue Jays front office in re-signing him.
Instead, Jackson will head to central Mexico and look to re-capture his form and success that he found the Blue Jays
