Blue Jays open to trade face of the franchise
Reports are beginning to swirl that the Jays are taking calls on a potential trade for Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Does this mean extension talks have gone the wrong way or have stopped?? Could this be a tactic? If so I'm not thrilled about the idea.
I understand everyone has a price tag but when you have a player the caliber and with the still rising potential of a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. you hang onto that with everything you can.
This kid is the face of the franchise and Jays fans have bought in for years. The fan base is already rumbling that if Vlad goes so do they.
The Jays front office should be showing their commitment to keep him here at all costs. Maybe say that your not taking calls on him to show how seriously you value him.
Everyday that goes by that a contract extension isn't signed is a day I feel the kid is getting further away from re-signing in Toronto.
Jays fans have been excited about Vladdy since they signed him at 16 years old. He has proven he is a premier player in the MLB and should be for the next decade plus.
If the front office really wants to reel the big fish in through free agency they need to take care of the players they already have.
I believe that the Jays number 1 priority this off season is to lock Guerrero Jr up for as long as they possibly can.
