Although there is not a lot happening at the Major Leagues there has been some action down in Double-A.

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate for the Toronto Blue Jays, have hired Taylor Fisher to be their next General Manager. The New England native will be the 5th GM in team history.

Fisher is a New England native who comes to the Fisher Cats after spending the last several years in the front office for the Nashville Sounds, the triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. He served in a variety of roles with Nashville, most recently as the Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service.

The Nashville Sounds have the most-profitable and highest-revenue for the last few years, thanks in no small part to the efforts of Fisher and his team. The club shattered almost every previous revenue record across all streams.

So strong now is the baseball culture in Nashville, that the city has been mentioned as a possible location for a big league expansion team, should MLB follow through on their desire to expand the league by two teams.

Fisher is a big part of why that culture exists so strongly.

Born and raised in Maine, Taylor Fisher spent years watching both the Fisher Cats and the Portland SeaDogs which fuelled his love of baseball.

Prior to his time with Nashville, Fisher began his minor league baseball career with the Frederick Keys, a Maryland-based Collegiate team in the MLB Draft League.

He also has previous General Manager Experience, serving as GM of former collegiate team Old Orchard Raging Beach Tide in 2014.

The Fisher Cats, who were once managed by current Blue Jays skipper John Schneider, hope Fisher can turn the club's fortunes after several sub-par years.

Since Schneider led them to an Eastern League Championship in 2018, The Fisher Cats have finished no higher than 3rd and were 52-84 under manager Cesar Martin last year.

Notable current prospects for the Fisher Cats include pitcher CJ Van Eyk, third baseman Charles McAdoo, 2nd baseman Cade Doughty, and short stop Josh Kasevich.

Taylor Fisher clearly has a track record of success and has a very strong and smart business acumen. With him now running the team, hopefully the Fisher Cats can have a strong 2025 season.
