MLB Network's Jon Morosi shares his thoughts on the chances of the Toronto Blue Jays signing Vladimir Guerrero Jr to a long term contract after avoiding arbitration.

MLB Network insider Jon Morosi's had this to say about the Blue Jays chances of signing Vladimir Guerrero Jr long term:
"While it was certainly positive and constructive that there was no arbitration hearing between Guerrero and the Blue Jays, had there been it would've been really concerning for the long term."

"The fact that they were able to get together on a 1 year deal is good in terms of their relationship right now, but I dont think that it will impact the likelihood or unlikelihood if Vladdy will sign long term with the Blue Jays a year from now."
"Vladimir Guerrero Jr had a very strong case going into arbitration this year, not just the production you go 30 and 100 with a 320 average and more importantly a 159 games played, that's a really big number in from a state point of his durability."

Morosi added, the 1 year deal with Guerrero is a good outcome for the Blue Jays right now, who have been under some stress this off season, they tried to get Juan Soto, didn't get him, tried to get Corbin Burnes, didn't get him. They've been linked to Anthony Santander, Jurickson Profar, to Alex Bregman to a certain extent as well.
I still believe there is a way for the Blue Jays to augment the lineup and at least give them a chance to win in Vladimir Guerrero Jr's final year before free agency.
"But I do not see a link AT ALL between yesterdays $28.5 million agreement and a higher chance for the Blue Jays to sign Vladimir Guerrero Jr long term when the 2025 season is over."
