Good day Blue Jays fans!

As we continue into the free agency frenzy of the off season. Lets take the focus off of Juan Soto for a second and see where else the Blue Jays can fill their holes through free agency.

Lets start with a couple possible happy reunions. First off we need another proven catcher as we know that it's a demanding position that needs many days off. For one Danny Jansen would be an excellent candidate to return. The team knows him. He seemed to really enjoy his time with the Blue Jays and would be a welcome addition to a struggling offense.

Should they miss out on Jano another very intriguing possibly low risk option is former Yankees backstop Gary Sanchez. His numbers don't jump off the page but playing in a hitter friendly ball park like Toronto could spark a resurgence. He also would fill in great at DH.

Although the Jays seem to have first base covered momentarily the thought of bringing in Pete Alonso is extremely intriguing. We all remember the 2019 Home Run Derby where Guerrero and the Polar Bear went off and blasted nearly 150 balls into the stands. The thought of a platoon where they shared responsibilities at 1B and DH and hit 3,4 in the order would be pretty fun to see.

The Jays have been in need of a reliable option at the hot corner since the departure of Matt Chapman. There have been rumblings of Vlad Jr moving back to Third but that seems like a pretty unlikely scenario. Alex Bregman leads the list and could be a good fit with his old pal George Springer. A more likely candidate would be the more contract friendly utility speedster Jon Berti.

In the Outfield the Jays are looking to bring in a solid power bat as we see in the pursuit of Soto. Should they fail to land the young phenom there's another reunion that could prove to be welcome. Teoscar Hernandez would be an excellent candidate to round out the Jays outfield.

A couple other viable options are Anthony Santander and Austin Hayes. The two former Baltimore bats could fill the gaps but don't offer quite as much offensive upside. Canadian Tyler O'Neill is another likely option.

There is really no lack of quality or quantity in this years free agent list. Lets hope that we see Atkins get active and we don't have a repeat of last year's disastrous off season. Time is ticking Mr. Atkins.
