For a good time, call Ernie Clement.

If the baseball gig doesn't work out, the Blue Jays third baseman has certainly found himself a gig as a hype man

While he wasn't on stage with rappers and hip hop artists, the third baseman was spotted in his hometown of Rochester, New York, repping the Junior Americans, his local hockey team

In a video posted to the official Blue Jays social media, Clement and his let's go personality, are seen enthusiastically calling out the players in the Jr. Americans locker room. Ernie was most definitely pumped up.

For fans familiar with Clement, this shouldn't come as a surprise. The lovable Blue Jay has always had an outgoing, infectious personality and has been well-liked in both Toronto, and in Cleveland where he previously played.

For those not in the know, a hype man is a term that comes from hip hop and rap culture, a backup vocalist who supports the main rapper with interjections, exclamations and ab-libs. Famous hype men throughout history include Kidd Creole, Joe C, Joe C, and Flavor Flav. Even Kendrick Lamar was a hype man in his early days.

While Clement is not, to anyone's knowledge, a professional in the rhyme-tastic arts, he put his call-out to music and ended with a let's go, two very important things when it comes to the art of being hype.

He is known however for his infectious personality and sense of humour. During players weekend in 2024, he did step up to the plate with a bat shaped like a number 2 pencil.

Who knows, maybe next season we'll bring an Ernie-goes-hype-vladdy-goes-yard symbiosis. Until then, LETS GO!!!!!!
