The Toronto Blue Jays front office missed out on both Teoscar Hernandez and
Corbin Burnes on Friday and the fans are disgusted.

On Friday, it was reported by ESPN's Jeff Passan that former Blue Jays slugger Teoscar Hernandez had agreed to a three-year $66 million deal to return to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Then early Saturday morning, Jon Heyman announced that former Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes had reached agreement on a six-year $210 Million deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Jays were interested in both players, and even put out a higher offer than Arizona did for Burnes, but still fell short.

Whiffing on top elite players has been a common theme for the Blue Jays with regards to free agents.

Ross Atkins fell short on Shohei Ohtani last year, Juan Soto this year, while also on the losing end on Burnes, Hernandez and Max Fried.

Needless to say, Jays fans are disgusted and took to social media to voice their displeasure.

Aside from a trade that brought in Andres Gimenez from the Cleveland Guardians earlier this month, it's been a very quiet offseason in Toronto, with only a few depth pieces being signed so far.

At this point, it looks like the 2025 season could be another long one.
