Blue Jays fans everywhere continue to mourn the loss of Rickey Henderson.
We are devastated to learn of the passing of Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson.
Across a 25-year career, Henderson was a 10-time All-Star, 3-time Silver Slugger Award winner, 2-time World Series champion and the 1990 American League MVP.
"We join the baseball community in mourning the passing of Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson.
His impact on the game, in the community, and in our organization as a Blue Jay will be remembered forever.
Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time." The Toronto Blue Jays Playing in the final year of his contract with the Oakland Athletics in 1993, Henderson was traded at the Deadline to Toronto and helped the Blue Jays win their second consecutive World Series. It was a short stay, but one that Blue Jays fans will never forget.

According to his wife Pamela Henderson Rickey passed away from a bout of pneumonia.
She released this statement shortly after:
"It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of my husband, Rickey Henderson. A legend on and off the field, Rickey was a devoted son, dad, friend, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a truly humble soul," Pamela Henderson said in a statement. "Rickey lived his life with integrity, and his love for baseball was paramount. Now, Rickey is at peace with the Lord, cherishing the extraordinary moments and achievements he leaves behind."
