Alex Bregman has made his terms known.

The All-Star third baseman, who is still a free agent three months into the offseason, is said to be still mulling over a six year, $156MM deal that Houston offered him back in December. Apparently the Blue Jays have offered something similar.
At one point during the offseason, the likelihood of Bregman returning to the Astros was small. However, with the recent trade of Ryan Pressly to the Chicago Cubs, it seems that a return to the Lone Star state might be closer than initially appeared.
While it is unknown what the exact offer from the Blue Jays is, the fact that it is said to be six years, shows how aggressive the team is being. If the Blue Jays end up landing Bregman, it may diminish their chances of also landing first baseman Pete Alonso, as Vladimir Guerrero Jr.. could not make the move back to third base. It would also further crowd the infield and the bench and diminish playing opportunities for Addison Barger, Ernie Clement, and Will Wagner.
Although he hit 26 home runs in 2024, Bregman is coming off somewhat off down year, that saw him reach a career low in OBP, and 75 RBI's his lowest total in a full season (not counting 2020) since 2017.
While the chances of the Blue Jays actually landing Bregman are slim, they have been slowly starting to get players to take their money.
For his career, Bregman is a .272. hitter, with 191 home runs and 669 RBIs.
