Despite not debuting their new City Connect uniforms last season until May 31, the Toronto Blue jays ended up wearing those uniforms sixteen times during the season.
They primarily wore them on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with a solitary Thursday game.
The
Blue Jays did not wear their
City Connect uni's on either Saturday or Sunday, nor were they worn on Tuesday.
So while they didn't really have any kind of a pattern or schedule for their use last season, this year they will be worn for every Friday night home game (for a total of 13 games).
The
Blue Jays City Connects are definitely one of the more «out there» alternate uniforms, billed by the team as «Night Mode» and certainly one which elicits strong emotions - it's one of those uniforms where you either love it or hate it.
Unlike some teams, the
Blue Jays were no more or less successful overall when wearing the dark blue uniforms.
Their final record was 74-88, while their record in the
City Connect uni's almost perfectly mirrored that at 7-9.
I'm pretty sure the decision to stick to a home-Friday-night schedule wasn't made with regard to the team's record when wearing the uniform on Fridays - but they were 4-2 on Fridays in 2024 when in the
City Connects.
If you're scoring at home, the team was 0-4 on Mondays, 2-3 on Wednesdays, and 1-0 on Thursdays when in the alternate.
I'd especially like to hear from those who like it, and why, but if you think they're terrible, I'd like to hear from you as well.
